Africa-Press – Liberia. <\/strong><\/span>FIFA has awarded three points and three goals to Liberia, after Equitorial Guinea were found guilty of fielding an ineligible player in the November 2023 World Cup qualifiers in Monrovia.<\/p>\n

In the findings released Friday, FIFA said striker Emilio Nsue was ineligible, but he was fielded in several matches including the 20 November 2023 World Cup qualifier against Liberia.<\/p>\n

Nsue, who starred at the recently held Africa Cup of Nations, scored the lone goal, as Equitorial Guinea pinned Liberia at the SKD Stadium in Paynesville in 2023.<\/p>\n

The FIFA Disciplinary Committee also imposed a fine of 150k Swiss Franc on the Equitorial Guinea Football Association.<\/p>\n

Nsue was also banned for six months for playing for any representative team of any association.<\/p>\n

Born in Mallorca to an Equitorial Guinean father , the 34-year-old played for Spain at all youth levels before agreeing to represent his father land.<\/p>\n

In 2013, FIFA also declared Nsue ineligible having scored a hat-trick in a 4-3 win over Cape Verde during the 2014 World Cup qualifiers.It was his first competitive game for Equitorial Guinea.<\/p>\n
