Africa-Press – Liberia. <\/strong><\/span>President Boakai has demanded hard work, dedication, and unwavering commitment from his cabinet officials for the development of Liberia.<\/p>\n

President Joseph Nyumah Boakai has warned Cabinet Ministers of a potential shift within the Cabinet.<\/p>\n

Delivering a statement on Thursday, 23 May 2024, at a Cabinet Retreat in Monrovia, Mr. Boakai urged his cabinet officials to be catalysts for change\u2014visionaries who inspire others to follow in their footsteps.<\/p>\n

His government\u2019s first Cabinet Retreat was held Thursday at the EJS Ministerial Complex in Congo Town.<\/p>\n

The retreat was held under the theme \u201cCoordination and Performance: Delivering on National Agenda Priorities.\u201d<\/p>\n

The theme underpinned a pivotal moment of shift following the Boakai Administration\u2019s first 100 days in office.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet us not be swayed by greed, corruption, or self-interest, but rather be guided by a sense of duty and responsibility to our citizens,\u201d President Boakai urged his officials.<\/p>\n

He disclosed that the agenda that they set for their first three and half months in office was an effort to collectively make bold decisions.<\/p>\n

He indicated that the agenda was to take concrete actions and dedicate themselves to tasks that will help them meet their developmental goals and lead to progress and prosperity.<\/p>\n

President Boakai, however, thanked cabinet officials and staff of the various Ministries, Agencies, and Commissions (MACs) for working hard to substantially deliver on the government\u2019s 100-Day Action Plan despite limited funding.<\/p>\n

He challenged the cabinet officials to reflect on the responsibility entrusted to them by the Liberian people and reaffirm their commitment to serve with diligence, integrity, and unwavering dedication.<\/p>\n

He reminded them that they came to usher in the transformative change Liberians have long yearned for, and they must continue to demonstrate to the average Liberian that the mission to rescue him or her is a deliberate move to set a new path for development.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne that will improve livelihoods and bring about much-needed dignity lost over the years. Our capacity as a government does not lie in how officials wear their titles on their sleeves and exert power,\u201d President Boakai noted.<\/p>\n

\u201cInstead, it is demonstrated in how we selflessly serve as a unit, bearing in mind that the work we do today and the foundation we lay will not just address current needs but guarantee a better future for the next generation,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n

President Boakai suggested that Liberians\u2019 expectations are at an all-time high. To deliver on those hopes, he said they must do things differently and with a renewed sense of patriotism and determination to deliver on their promises.<\/p>\n

He urged cabinet officials to use this moment as talented members of a team to engage in thoughtful, constructive, and open conversation.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe should exchange ideas and plan on how best to address the economic and social challenges confronting our country,\u201d he mandated his officials.<\/p>\n

He also reminded them of the challenge he had made to them during their commissioning and that it was no longer business as usual.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a demand for hard work, dedication, and unwavering commitment to the development of our beloved country,\u201d said President Boakai.<\/p>\n
