Africa-Press – Liberia. <\/strong><\/span>Former Liberia Football Association (LFA) Vice President for Operations, Cassell Anthony Kuoh says his quest for the country\u2019s football presidency is to rescue football and restore Liberia\u2019s image on the world stage.<\/p>\n

Kuoh, speaking on a local radio station Saturday, May 25 said Liberian football is taking a downward path under the current administration headed by Mustapha Raji.<\/p>\n

He alleged that the presence of Raji as president of LFA has damaged the country\u2019s number one sport.<\/p>\n

\u201cFellow football stakeholders and Liberians, I have come to you with a message of rescue and renewal of the beautiful game we all love,\u201d he told listeners following the show both by radio and social media.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I was in jail a few months ago, my focus was, and has always been on one agenda of improving our football to where it was during my days as VPO.\u201d<\/p>\n

He noted that he is on record to have been one of those that brought changes in the league when he was running FC Fassell. He argued that the problem of country football is mainly triggered by greed, the lack of sound and honest leadership and people with no vision to take football to another level.<\/p>\n

The FC Kallon-Liberia chief executive officer said he has a mission, and that mission is to ensure that the lost image of football in Liberia is restored.<\/p>\n

He alleged that the current LFA boss lacks vision to lobby for more and better sponsorships for the league. \u201cYou can\u2019t be with one sponsor for many years and they are giving you 200,000 United States Dollars as sponsorship. This must be a joke,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The Liberian businessman has also promised to improve the state of the league and the national teams if he is elected as president of the Football Association.<\/p>\n

\u201cI will make sure that we invest hugely in the league so Liberians can once again return to the respective pitches to watch their clubs and national teams in a happy mood\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

\u2018\u2019I want the congressmen to vote for me to become the new president of the FA in 2026 and after that you will see the massive improvement of our clubs and national teams\u201d Kuoh voices out.<\/p>\n

He promised that his leadership at the FA, in its first four years, each club will receive 50, 000 United States Dollar as subvention while the money will increase to 75, 000 his next four years.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Kuoh has promised to pay a visit in the coming days at the camp of the Women Under -17 national team ahead of their fourth round World Cup qualifier against Nigeria on June 9, 2024. According to him his visit is intended to motivate the players.<\/p>\n
