Africa-Press – Liberia. <\/strong><\/span>The Monrovia City Court has remanded Rev. Emmanuel Nimely, the pastor of Forkay Klon Family Fellowship Church, owned by former President George Weah, at the Monrovia Central Prison. Rev. Nimely, who was also the Religious advisor of the former Liberian leader, was incarcerated on charges of theft of property and obtaining or issuing deceptive writings.<\/p>\n

Multiple complainants reported a loss of US$87,300 allegedly associated with Nimely’s activities.<\/p>\n

Despite an expected release on bail, Nimely’s legal team could not meet the conditions for his release. Nimely has been in custody since his arrest at the ABC Community, near Baptist Seminary on June 2, 2024.<\/p>\n

<\/a>According to the police investigation, complaints were filed by H. Momo Fortune, Jr., and over eight other individuals alleging that Nimely deceived them with promises of visas for a church conference in Australia.<\/p>\n

Nimely admitted to collecting funds under false pretenses and stated his inability to refund the money to participants who did not receive the promised visas. The investigation revealed that Nimely’s organization, the Global Spiritual Cleansing Peace & Reconciliation, was involved in organizing a fraudulent foreign conference in Australia.<\/p>\n

The organization allegedly collected funds from participants for visas and other documentation fees under \u201cfalse pretenses.\u201d Funds were reportedly transferred to foreign accounts and individuals. The investigation has brought to light concerning allegations of fraudulent activities related to the organization’s visa program and the misappropriation of funds.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, Nimely’s admission to deceiving participants and the exploitation of funds for unauthorized purposes are key elements of the ongoing legal case.<\/p>\n
