Africa-Press – Liberia. <\/strong><\/span>Thomas Bropleh, a professional basketball player stated that his organization is back in Liberia to help improve the skills of young basketball players.<\/p>\n

Monrovia \u2013 The second edition of the Thomas Bropleh Basketball Training Camp, aimed at scouting and developing the next generation of Liberian basketball players, concluded over the weekend at the Samuel K. Doe Sports Complex gymnasium.<\/p>\n

Thomas Bropleh, a professional basketball player currently playing for Shizuoka Veltex in Japan\u2019s B2 League Play-Offs, stated that his organization is back in Liberia to help improve the skills of young basketball players.<\/p>\n

Bropleh explained that his organization, Determine Basketball Camp (DBC), first visited Liberia in 2023 and helped train youths passionate about the game. This year, they are focusing on developing the talents of youth between the ages of seven and 18.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is our second year in Liberia. In 2023, we trained 130 athletes at the YMCA headquarters. This year, we are training 150 athletes here at the Samuel K. Doe Sports Complex (SKD). The training includes both boys and girls, and we are here to help enhance their basketball skills and knowledge as they continue to pursue their dreams of becoming top basketball athletes in the future,\u201d Bropleh said.<\/p>\n

Bropleh described the attendance of youth as very encouraging and expressed gratitude to the athletes for their enthusiastic participation. He urged them to apply the skills they have gained from the training effectively.<\/p>\n

He mentioned that each of the 150 athletes participating in the two-day training received a basketball.<\/p>\n

Bropleh disclosed that his next visit to Liberia would be in Ganta City, Nimba County, where they hope to train the youth of Nimba in basketball skills. He promised to return to Liberia in 2025 with more skill training for youth eager to gain more knowledge in basketball.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the media, Edwin Fahnbulleh, Chairman for Basketball Development at the Liberia Basketball Association (LBA), thanked Determine Basketball Camp for improving the skills of young basketball players in the country and urged others to follow the organization\u2019s good example, sponsored by athlete Bropleh.<\/p>\n

For his part, Liberia Basketball Association Secretary General Calvin Diggs paid tribute to the officials of Determine Basketball Camp for returning home to help train young basketball players. He called on the participants to make the most of the international training they received.<\/p>\n
