On a momentous day, Lonestar Cell MTN marked the sixth anniversary of its prestigious \u201cYellow Scholar\u201d program, a flagship initiative dedicated to nurturing and empowering the next generation of Liberian leaders.<\/p>\n

The event, held on August 2, 2024, was a celebration of success, dedication, and the unveiling of new scholars, alongside the graduation of existing ones. Mrs. Johnett Horace, Head of HR at Lonestar Cell MTN, delivered a powerful address during the event, reflecting on the program\u2019s growth since its inception in 2019. She emphasized the company\u2019s unwavering commitment to the development of young talents, which she described as a key factor in Lonestar Cell MTN\u2019s contribution to Liberia\u2019s national development.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Lonestar Cell MTN Y\u2019ello Scholar program was launched to support the education sector, encourage scholarliness among university students, and contribute to the Liberian community in which we work,\u201d said Mrs. Horace.<\/p>\n

\u201cSince 2019, we have had the opportunity to meet many brilliant students from across Liberia, who have not only shaped the paradigm of academia but are also changing the narrative.\u201d<\/p>\n

The program, which targets students with a minimum GPA of 3.5, has seen over 51 participants since its launch. Of these, 30 have gone through the graduate trainee program, while 21 have participated in internships.<\/p>\n

Mrs. Horace proudly shared that five of the graduates have been hired as permanent employees at Lonestar Cell MTN, and several others have gone on to further their studies abroad.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen we started in 2019, people thought it was impossible to find students in Liberia with a GPA of 3.5. Today, we celebrate the achievements of these bright minds, who have exceeded expectations and demonstrated their capabilities,\u201d Mrs. Horace noted.<\/p>\n

Mrs. Horace: \u201csaid Since 2019, we have had the opportunity to meet many brilliant students from across Liberia, who have not only shaped the paradigm of academia but are also changing the narrative.\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n

The program offers a structured career development path for students, providing them with practical hands-on job experience, skill development, and opportunities to explore various career options.<\/p>\n

Participants receive financial compensation and the potential for future employment with Lonestar Cell MTN.<\/p>\n

One of the program\u2019s beneficiaries, Kelvin Barclay, shared his experience with the audience. Sensitivity: Public \u201cI was skeptical at first, thinking that this opportunity wasn\u2019t for people like me. But after applying and being accepted, I can say that this program is truly merit-based. I\u2019m now employed with Lonestar Cell MTN, and it\u2019s been an incredible journey.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another beneficiary, Winnie Oguerilam, a senior studying Environmental Science at Stella Maris Polytechnic University, echoed Kelvin\u2019s sentiments.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was reluctant to apply at first, but my friends encouraged me. Today, I stand here as proof that this program is legitimate and life-changing. If you\u2019re qualified, you\u2019ll be accepted.\u201d The celebration also featured remarks from Mr. Kobina Bentsi-Enchill, Chief Financial Officer of Lonestar Cell MTN, who represented the Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Rahul De. Mr. Bentsi-Enchill commended the scholars for their resilience, determination, and agility.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis program has touched lives and helped many ambitious students find their career paths. To our graduating scholars, congratulations on reaching this significant milestone. Continue to strive for excellence and make a positive impact in your communities.\u201d<\/p>\n
