They bring together central bank governors, senior finance ministry officials, technical experts, and development partners to strengthen monetary cooperation, financial integration, and macroeconomic policy coordination across the ECOWAS sub-region.<\/p>\n<p>Key meetings include:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 August 4\u20136: The First Ordinary Joint Meeting of the Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee of WAMA and the Macroeconomic Policy Technical Committee of the ECOWAS Commission.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 August 7\u20138: The 52nd Meeting of the WAIFEM Technical Committee.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 August 11\u201312: The 57th Meeting of the WAMI Technical Committee.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 August 14: The 66th Ordinary Meeting of the ECOWAS Committee of Governors.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 August 15: The 54th Meeting of the WAMZ Convergence Council.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 August 18: The 12th Ordinary Meeting of the ECOWAS Convergence Council of ministers and governors.<\/p>\n<p>These sessions will review critical reports and policy issues, including the ECOWAS Macroeconomic Convergence Report for 2024, status of implementation of the ECOWAS Roadmap, exchange rate developments and inflation trends, progress on the ECOWAS Solidarity and Stabilization Fund, financial sector developments and regional payment systems and preparations for the launch of the ECOWAS single currency, the ECO, by 2027<\/p>\n<p>According to the release, the meetings will also feature discussions on the impact of global economic uncertainty, inflationary pressure in the region, particularly, in the West African Monetary Zone countries, and currency depreciation on intra-regional trade and monetary integration.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese statutory meetings, which will virtually be attended by both the Ministry of Finance &amp; Development Planning (MFDP) and the CBL, reaffirm our collective commitment to regional integration and economic transformation,\u201d said Henry F.
