Africa-Press – Liberia. <\/strong><\/span>The Liberia National Red Cross Society (LNRCS) has officially launched a comprehensive Workplace First Aid and Safety Training program for 600 employees of the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning (MFDP).<\/p>\n

The initiative follows the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the two institutions to enhance workplace safety, emergency preparedness, and health awareness among public servants.<\/p>\n

The month-long training, running from November 11 to December 4, 2025, seeks to equip Ministry staff with practical skills to respond swiftly and effectively to workplace emergencies. It also aims to foster a culture of safety, prevention, and prompt intervention, aligned with occupational health and safety best practices.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the launch, Gregory T. Blamoh, Chief Executive Officer of the Liberia National Red Cross Society, praised the Ministry\u2019s leadership for prioritizing the well-being of its workforce.<\/p>\n

\u201cWorkplace accidents are unforeseen events that can cause injury or illness due to working conditions or the environment. These accidents may result from contact with objects, exposure to hazards, or even acts of violence,\u201d Mr. Blamoh explained.<\/p>\n

\u201cEnsuring workplace safety is a shared responsibility. Every injury prevented means a life protected, a family preserved, and productivity sustained. A safe workplace is the foundation for a healthy, productive, and resilient organization,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Mr. Blamoh further noted that First Aid training remains one of the Red Cross\u2019s key income-generating programs, supporting both humanitarian work and safety education across Liberia.<\/p>\n

\u201cCommercial First Aid training is one of our core income streams, allowing us to fund local humanitarian actions while building safer and more resilient workplaces nationwide,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He emphasized that the partnership with the Ministry underscores the Red Cross\u2019s unwavering commitment to promoting health, safety, and continuous capacity building within public and private institutions.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur collaboration with the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning reaffirms our dedication to creating a safe and healthy work environment where employees can operate with confidence and efficiency,\u201d he concluded.<\/p>\n

The Liberia National Red Cross Society offers a range of certified First Aid courses, including Basic First Aid, Occupational First Aid, and Emergency Lifesaving First Aid, as well as customized first aid kits for personal, office, home, and vehicle use.<\/p>\n

Through such initiatives, the Red Cross continues to strengthen national resilience, empower institutions, and promote a culture of preparedness and safety across Liberia.<\/p>\n
