The Board of Accreditation and Licensure of Liberia Association of Medical Laboratory Technologists has inducted its leadership headed by Mr. Arthur Brown as chairman.<\/p>\n

Those inducted along Mr. Brown include Dr. Marion Grant-Johnson Co-Chair, Mr. Marcus Kolleh, Secretary General, Mr. Nelson Berrien, Varflay Kamara, Harley Seward, and Getrude Jeh-Mulbah as members of the board.<\/p>\n

Dr. Joseph Kerkula, who proxy for Liberia\u2019s Medical Officer, Dr. Francis Kateh, urged the board to evaluate and carryout perfect scrutiny in the discharge of their duties, chief among them to issue lab accreditation to laboratory technologists.<\/p>\n

\u201cBeing a part of the board as a member you\u2019re under moral responsibility to show integrity to give lab technicians license based on competence and not friendship to work in hospital to risk the lives of patients,\u201d he cautioned.<\/p>\n

He described lab technicians important people who helped doctors understand patients\u2019 history,\u2019 and called-on the board to do proper scrutiny before permitting lab technicians to practice in the hospital.<\/p>\n

Speaking further, Dr. Kateh\u2019s support to always work along with the team to unite and collectively work in the interest of building the health sector of Liberia.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Chief Medical Officer of Liberia, Dr. Francis Kateh has asked me to reaffirm his commitment to continue to work with the board in the interest of strengthening the health sector of Liberia,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

In his induction speech, Chairman Brown reassured his team\u2019s commitment to work in the interest of the organization, and promised to unite the organization.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to guarantee you and want you to take my words that the little we have for now, we will maintain and improve it to a level that will be appreciated,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The Liberia Association of Medical Laboratory Technology (LAMLT) is a non-governmental, non-religious, nonpartisan, and not-for-profit civic professional organization whose mission is to standardize quality medical laboratory diagnostic services across Liberia, in line with international best practices with customer satisfaction in mind.<\/p>\n

The organization comprises professional medical Laboratory practitioners with a community of more than 1,000 members across Liberia who are contributing towards quality diagnostic activities in rural and urban Liberia.<\/p>\n

The board is responsible to issue licenses to laboratory professionals and accredit all lab training institutions in Liberia.<\/p>\n
