Boakai of Unity Party and Alexander B. Cummings of the Alternative National Congress Alexander have vowed not to relinquish their presidential ambition for the upcoming general and presidential elections in 2023.<br \/>\nBoth Cummings and Boakai harbored the ambition to contest for the presidency on the ticket of the CPP with none of them submitting to become a vice-presidential candidate.<br \/>\nTop stakeholders within the CPP have opened vowed that the former vice president of Liberia who is the Political Leader of Unity Party and chairman of the CPP, Joseph Boakai be the face of the CPP against president George Weah of the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC).<br \/>\nMost of the stakeholders of the CPP and some partisans believed that Boakai is the only alternative for opposition to make President Weah one-term president.<br \/>\nWith that according to those supporters of the Unity Party political leader, the ANC Political leader Cummings should relinquish his presidential ambition.<br \/>\nBut rejecting the call by those of the Unity Party and other supporters of Amb. Boakai for Mr. Cummings to relinquish his presidential ambition, the Communication Director in the Office of Cummings, Mulbah Yorgbor said the ANC political leader will contest the presidency in the general and presidential elections.<br \/>\n\u201cAlexander B. Cummings of the Alternative National Congress will be a candidate for president of the Republic of Liberia in 2023, October elections\u201d, he noted.<br \/>\nYorgbor said that be it the CPP or not, Cummings will be a formidable candidate that will unseat President George Weah.<br \/>\nHe disclosed that in preparation for the presidency by Cummings, he has urged the government of President Weah to ensure that his government is audited and or during the leadership of (him) Cummings, the George Weah administration will be audited.<br \/>\n\u201cThe Government should muster the courage to audit and show transparency in governance and do the right things or you will have to answer to these things, the wrong that they do, they will have to answer to them, the audit that they failed to carry out, they will be audited,\u201d he noted.<br \/>\nAccording to him, Mr. Cummings is committed to doing whatever he says that he will do in the interest of the Liberian people.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/liberia\">Liberia<\/a> Follow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Liberia.
