The People\u2019s Action Party (PAP), an emerging force in Liberia\u2019s dynamic political landscape, will host its highly anticipated national convention from March 27 to 29 in Benson City, the bustling heart of Montserrado County.<\/p>\n

Over 20,000 partisans, supporters and dignitaries are expected to converge on the venue.<\/p>\n

According to PAP National Organizing Chairman, Ahmed Kabineh Sirleaf, the three-day event promises to be a pivotal moment as the party formalizes its leadership and charts a course for national influence.<\/p>\n

Officials are promoting a slate of key national executive positions open for contestation, underscoring PAP\u2019s commitment to internal democracy.<\/p>\n

At the top is the standard-bearer and political leader role to be followed by national chairperson and nine specialized vice-chair positions, including administration, operations, research policy and planning, legal affairs, financial investment and international affairs.<\/p>\n

Other electable offices include national secretary general, PAP Youth League Leader and head of women and gender affairs often described as the party\u2019s \u201ccheerleading\u201d vanguard.<\/p>\n

Elections will extend to the grassroots level, with plans to elect county chairs and county secretary generals after certification by the Elections Commission.<\/p>\n

While discussions continue on the exact timeline, PAP may appoint current acting county leaders to formal roles during a nationwide mobilization drive focused on membership growth and party organization.<\/p>\n

The convention will draw delegates from across Liberia\u2019s 73 electoral districts\u2014five per district plus five representatives from each county\u2019s acting leadership.<\/p>\n

For example, Nimba County\u2019s nine districts alone will send 45 delegates, to be joined by five county leaders for a turnout of around 50 from that region, Sirleaf said.<\/p>\n

Auxiliary groups and special units will bolster numbers, creating an electric atmosphere in Benson City, known for its vibrant markets and proximity to key government hubs.<\/p>\n

In a bold display of inclusivity, PAP has extended invitations to top national figures, including President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Vice President Jeremiah Koung, House Speaker, Deputy Speaker, all senators, the Liberian National Bar Association, Press Union of Liberia, civil society organizations, the diplomatic corps and leaders from every major political party.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is an open invitation to all Liberians and political parties,\u201d Acting National Party Chairman emphasized, positioning PAP as a fresh, collaborative alternative in Liberia\u2019s often fractious multiparty system.<\/p>\n

The schedule kicks off Friday with arrivals, afternoon orientations, and an evening reception dinner, fostering networking amid Monrovia\u2019s lively street energy.<\/p>\n

Saturday, the centerpiece, features voting on party documents like the constitution, to be followed by elections for all leadership roles.<\/p>\n

Sunday will wrap up with leadership development workshops from PAP\u2019s institute training sessions on party building and strategy culminating in a grand stairway dinner for delegates and VIPs.<\/p>\n
