Africa-Press – Liberia. <\/strong><\/span>Former World Boxer Organization European Welterweight Champion, Freddy Kiwitt will face undefeated Frenchman, Nurali Erdogan at the Universum Gym in y on Saturday, February 19.<\/p>\n

The Liberian-German boxer who is on the back of knockout victory against Colombian boxer, Wilber Blanco in November, said he is delighted to go into the fight with the mindset of a champion.<\/p>\n

Speaking to FrontPageAfrica, Kiwitt who is undefeated in his last three bouts said that he feels glad to have rest from ring and winning is a realistic outcome for him.<\/p>\n

Said Kiwitt: \u201c It was good. It was a very needed rest for me. I carried several injuries which I needed to take care of and I went for a well-deserved holiday with my family.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis type of contact sport no one is ever Injury free, but I\u2019m going in with the mindset of a champion and winning is the only outcome for me.\u201d The Liberian-German\u2019s opponent, Erdogan (24) has not tasted defeat so for, winning a last 12 professional bouts.<\/p>\n

But Kiwitt who is hopeful of a title fight this year and optimistic of a higher spot on the WBO rankings, said that he knows how to approach his opponent in the fight.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt always feels great to be in the gym. It\u2019s like my second home. I watched one fight of him. He\u2019s undefeated, young and confident and it\u2019s always harder to break someone who has never lost. But we have a game plan and I\u2019m looking to execute it on him,\u201d Kiwitt told FrontPageAfrica.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was hoping to get a title shot. But they have changed their mind. Regardless, I am going for the win, which will put me higher in the rankings.\u201d I want to push into the top 10 by this year.<\/p>\n

Kiwitt, however, said that being at home give him a relief but it put pressure on him to come on top. Kiwitt called on supporters worldwide to turnout and support him throughout the fight.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m the home fighter which takes some pressure away. But then it also makes me have more pressure because my people are here to support me,\u201d Kiwitt said. The fight will be live on Universum TV on YouTube at 7PM GMT on Saturday February 19, 2022.<\/p>\n
