Ce morceau est consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme le pionnier de la chanson contestataire am\u00e9ricaine, mais avant tout envers la condition des noirs aux \u00c9tats-Unis.<\/p>\n<p>Il est donc difficile de situer Andy Razaf dans l\u2019histoire des afro-descendants des \u00c9tats-Unis. Fils d\u2019homme libre, du c\u00f4t\u00e9 paternel, cependant, fils de descendants d\u2019esclaves. \u00c0 sa naissance par contre, l\u2019esclavage a \u00e9t\u00e9 abolie aux \u00c9tats-Unis, trente-deux ans plus t\u00f4t.<\/p>\n<p>Il \u00e9tait donc un homme libre \u00e0 part enti\u00e8re.
