Karonga FC, Dedza Dynamos fight over Clement Nyondo

Africa-Press – Malawi. As forthcoming football season draws closer in the country, teams have started the battle for the players. Clement Nyondo, Karonga United striker, is the current the hot cake after he has found himself at the center of the war between newly promoted Dedza Dynamos and the Crocodiles from Kyungu River, Karonga United.

Nyondo who was previously spotted doing trials with the Servants, Civil Service United is reported to have clinched a two year deal with “MA DAYI” Dedza Dynamos.

Dedza Dynamos, General Secretary Mavuto Mugode, has confirmed to have signed the striker as a free agent but denied to disclose the lengthy of the contract.

According to Mugode, the club believes that Nyondo will help them to survive in the elite league. When asked on whether they have knowledge that the player has the running contract with Karonga United, Mugode said they are not aware about the development as the agent of the player and the player himself told them his contract expired with the parent club hence agreeing on personal terms.

Karonga United General Secretary, Ramzy Simwaka, was puzzled to learn the player has signed with Dedza Dynamos saying as a club they have registered him as their player in the 2022 football season.

“Clement is our player, his contract expires in December 2022,I am surprised hearing he has signed for Dedza Dynamos. We firstly heard he was at Civil for trials and now at Dedza, if it is so it will be difficult for him to play this season.

“We are the ones to clear him.If his contract expired had to give us chance to negotiate about his future as parent club”, Simwaka was quoted.

Team manager for Karonga United, Wilberforce Longwe, however confirmed with a Community radio station based in Karonga, Tuntifye Radio, that this season Karonga United will miss the services of three key players, Clement Nyondo, William Bwetu Mwalwimba and Victor Lungu though he did not disclose their whereabouts.

“Yes we have two to three players who will not appear for Karonga United this season, players like Clement Nyondo, Victor Lungu and possibly William Bwetu Mwalwimba but the rest are available” said Longwe. Karonga United finished on position five in the 2020/2021 TNM Super League season with 46 points.
