CCAP Nkhoma Synod seeks peace with Chewa Heritage

Africa-Press – Malawi. LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The Central Church Africa of Presbyterian (CCAP), Nkhoma Synod has apologized to Chewa Heritage on behalf of Mvama Preacher, Revelend Hamilton Yasin Gama.

CCAP Nkhoma Secretary General Vasco Kachipapa apologized to the grouping on Thursday, February 24, 2022 during a meeting with the Chewa heritage at Lilongwe District council.

Kachipapa said the church will make sure that their preaching will have better examples that will not bring in confusion. He said despite one of them sitting an example on the Chewa culture the Synod has been in good terms with the heritage.

Speaking during the meeting, Senior Chief Lukwa said called for peace from Chewa heritage group as the CCAP leadership has apologized. Lukwa said the preaching of Gama should be taken with conscious to avoid bringing chaos in the country.

He said no grouping will attack CCAP churches as it was said before by some Chewa heritage. He has asked for the preachers to be careful when minding about others peoples tradition.

Reverend Gama referred his preaching to Chewa culture which angers the heritage . Meanwhile ministry of Unity said Malawians are at liberty to co-exist as well as expressing their feelings and beliefs without necessarily infringing on somebody’s human rights.

In a statement signed by secretary to the Ministry, Eliza Gomani said every one have a right to belong to any legally accepted associations or grouping of choice as stipulated in Section32 of the constitution of the Republic of Malawi. She said section 20 prohibits any kind of discrimination on whatever basis.
