
Africa-Press – Malawi. The country Fiscal Police and Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 confiscated a number documents from the office of Dipak Jevant of Sealand investments limited in Lilongwe, after it was discovered that he got paid for fertilizer which he did not supply.
This publication understands that Dipak’s companies including Greenfield and Agriafrica were also used in this game of notes and crosses. Based on the documents in our possession Dipak Jevant was stealing from the public through false claims in the form of interests and invoices.
However, Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA) is expected to inspect his books as he has not paid tax for his two other companies listed above. This comes after Ministry of Agriculture raised alarm last week after auditors singled out Sealand investments limited as the company that was paid billions of kwachas due to serious political connections.
Dipak Jevant was very close to former Malawi President Peter Mutharika and his bodyguard Norman Chisale. Dipak is reportedly issued a cash cheque of MK10 million to be drawn by Norman Chisale.
Dipak Jevant fraud action has angered farmers across the country that are planning to demonstrate at his office in the capital Lilongwe. Jevant was not available for comment on the matter for several attempt
