Africa-Press – Malawi. Malawi Congress Party (MCP)’s former regional chairman for the Centre Daniel Mlomo on Monday, March 21, 2022 rejoined the party after a brief romance with United Transformation Movement (UTM).
Mlomo resignation from UTM comes barely days several members left the party attributing to UTM leadership failure. “I have been in MCP for 19 years. I have always been an MCP member and so there is nothing new about my coming back,” he said.
“MCP has done tremendous job in building this country. This is the reason more people are coming to join the party,” he emphasized.
MCP Central Region Chairman Zebron Chilondola said he was delighted to welcome Mlomo back into MCP fold after his brief UTM stay where he served as regional governor.
“Am very happy to welcome Mlomo back to MCP. He is a powerful politician,” he said.
Chilondola however hinted that working relationship between UTM and MCP, Chilondola remains cordial UTM President Saulos Chilima has been blamed for members resignations, quitting.
