Africa-Press – Malawi. Oftentimes, we overlook the important basic facts of who we are and what we have become in Christ. These facts must be known, believed, and confessed by the believer. Believe beyond any shadow of doubt that you are saved. Believe you are a true child of God born into God’s family.
That in itself must mean that whatever benefits are in God’s family, those are at your disposal. You have a duty to grab them by faith. Your protection is in God’s hands; your provision, your success and prosperity are in your father’s household.
Another basic fact that you must know, believe, confess and always remember is that you are a new creature. ‘Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things are passed away; behold, all things have become new’ (2 Corinthians 5:17).
This must be what you are always contemplating about. Allow these truths to fill your hearts and minds. The devil takes advantage of your life whenever you are not aware or when you forget these truths. Being a new creation is different from being a recycled item. You are a brand new person in Christ who no longer has a past but a future.
It is like you never existed before. Your past no longer counts in the eyes of God. You are born again and have accepted Christ as your Lord and savior. When God forgives your sins, He erases, eradicates and forgets everything.
That is why it is important for you to see things the same way God sees them. If God is saying ‘behold, see’ all things become new; then take Him at His word. You are no longer a sinner but a saint. No longer condemned but forgiven. You are now on a highway to heaven.
All your past mistakes no longer exist. All your sinful offences committed before, have been taken away by the blood of Jesus. You are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. You are the blessed of the Lord. The greater one now lives inside of you.
That is why it is important to stop dwelling and beating yourself over your past sins. Do not let the devil take an upper hand reminding you of the past mistakes. It is high time you start responding back to the devil with the right confessions that you are now a new creature. You no longer live in the past.
You can take this truth further and apply it to other aspects of your life. If there was a weakness in your body, it’s time to confess your healing. Speak it out and say that you are healed by the stripes of Jesus. You have a God who heals all your diseases including the one that has tormented you for long. Healing is yours.
If there are weaknesses in your marriage, it’s time to confess the past is gone; a new lease of life, love, joy, peace and unity has taken over your family. Divorce is no longer an option. Your relationship and marriage is no longer the same; there is a new lease of life in Christ Jesus.
