Africa-Press – Malawi. The Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA) has ordered Angaliba Television and Radio stations to cease broadcastings until the issue of outstanding licences fees is resolved. This follows the renewal of Angalibas’ Television and Radio licences in 2021.

In a statement which Maravi Post has in possession signed by Macra’s Director General Daud Suleman the renewal was subject to Angaliba paying MACRA the outstanding licence fees, before 11th January 2022.

“MACRA directed Angaliba to be off-air until the fees were fully paid to have its licences renewed unconditionally “, reads part of the statement The statement also states that Angaliba made some payments towards the outstanding fees but disputed the amount owing to MACRA
