Africa-Press – Malawi. The former Malawi President who is also leader of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) was on Monday July 18, 2022 celebrating his 82nd birthday. But Mutharika still salivating for Malawi Presidency.
The cerebration which was attended by several DPP supporters and top members was held at his retirement home, PAGE house in Mangochi. Mutharika received a lot of happy birthday wishes from several Malawians including his fellow politicians.
Kondwani Nankhumwa, a DPP top member and leader of opposition in the National Assembly wished Mutharika a healthy life as he continues inspiring many politicians in Malawi.
Nankhumwa described Muntharika as a son of soil where many politicians should take an example from. Born on July 18, 1940, Arthur Peter Mutharika (APM) is a Malawian politician and lawyer who was President of Malawi from May 2014 to June 2020.
Mutharika has worked in the field of international justice, specialising in international economic law, international law and comparative constitutional law.
He informally served as an adviser to his older brother,President Bingu wa Mutharika, on issues of foreign and domestic policy from the onset of his election campaign until the President’s death on April 5, 2012.
