Africa-Press – Malawi. As the country continues to face back-to-back demonstrations led by Several Civil Society Organizations(CSOs), Minister of Unity, Timothy Mtambo who led the most destructive Demos during DPP rule, has described the action as shielding those who are under probe from the Anti-Corruption Bureau(ACB).
in an interview with Maravi post on Wednesday July 20,2022, Minister Mtambo said government clearly knows that most demonstrations are funded by those that are accused. This normally follows soon after an arrest of some government individuals.
Mtambo said people should follow proper procedures if they are to question a wrong doing or an arrest by Anti-Corruption Bureau(ACB). Minister Timothy Mtambo has however, asked the CSOs to always abide by the country’s laws so as to avoid lawlessness demos to happen.
This coming from Minister Mtambo is laughable as he was responsible for the most destructive demos following the 2019 elections which were won by Peter Mutharika and the DPP.
On July 20, 2011, Malawi lost twenty people in protesting against Bingu wa Mutharika’s regime which had poor governance ,high cost of living, forex shortage and fuel scarcity.
