Africa-Press – Malawi. Vice Chancellor for Cypress International University professor Tuweh Negus Prince G. Gadama has quashed traditional education system practiced in most Africa countries describing it as detrimental towards quality education standards on an African child.
Professor Gadama has since called on for immediate rebirth of qualitative education system that yield graduants who are creative and productive in any field of their practice.
The vice Chancellor uttered this at Bingu International Conference Centre (BICC) in Lilongwe where he presided over the 2022 Cypress International University graduation ceremony.
“The bone of contention is that African continent must rise and shine from the slumber of traditional education that has harvested fluffy graduants who have negatively impacted the education system in Africa. Nobody can cheat you, historically, African continent comes first against the rest because was the first to be explored in 2900 BC, China 2500 BC, America 1600BC just to mention a few.
“First library was discovered in Africa, mathematics, law, astronomy were all first found in Africa. English is a native language in England, speaking English doesn’t mean that you are intelligent. Therefore, Africa deserve to have quality standards of education as most fundamental spheres that make one to be a greatest Accademia the genesis is Africa,” professor Gadama articulated.
He clarified further that academic doctoral degree is conferred to an individual who has fully completed academic study and write dissertation while honorary doctoral degree is conferred to an individual for his or her great achievement in life.
Among the chiefs who received honorary doctoral degree is Empress Her Highness Dr Paramount Kaduya from Lhomwe chieftancy who expressed gratitude. Paramount Dr Kaduya added that the honorary doctoral degree will strengthen her efforts to implement ideologies in the masterplan of paramount Kaduya Foundation.
Emperor His Highness Dr Lukwa of Chewa clan also embraced honorary doctoral degree as well as His Imperial Majesty Mwenemutapa from Zimbabwe. Other disciplines including criminology, theology, education and among others.
