Africa-Press – Malawi. Civil Service United Football Club has to start searching for new General Secretary following the resignation of Ronald Chiwaula who has been with the club for over seven years.
Chiwaula has resigned from the post after he got elected as executive Committee member for Superleague of Malawi (SULOM) weeks ago. Confirming about the development, Chiwaula said he will greatly miss Civil Service United as it was his second family.
“I can confirm that I have submitted the letter through the Chairman of the club. Honestly departing from the club which I loved most is painful. I truly loved the Civo family but I have to graduate to national level with the new post I have acquired.
“I would like to help implementing the manifesto by our President, Mr.Haiya as it has been a tradition of not fulfilling what has been promised.
“Basically I will need to study the whole set up,and after mastering I will do checks and balances on the manifesto”, said Chiwaula.
During the seven year tenure with the club, Chiwaula managed to secure co-sponsors, took the team to the neighboring countries including Mozambique for some tournaments, produced replica jerseys to maximize the funding. He also convinced government to employ the players and put them on payrolls, managed good international transfers for the players among others.
