Africa-Press – Malawi. The Malawi Police Service in Lilongwe’s capital is holding a 22-year-old con man for using fake Facebook accounts to dupe innocent people of their hard-earned money.
Deputy national police spokesperson Alfred Chimthere has confirmed the arrest of Precious Kasakatiza who is currently being kept at Lingadzi police station.
Kasakatiza has been charged with obtaining money by false pretence and defamation of character, among others. Chimthere says the suspect Kasakatiza, who stays in area 36 Lilongwe, has for the past months been running numerous fake Facebook accounts namely:

2-Anzeru Akummawa
3-Princess Regina
4-Affordable steel roofing
5-Mr Praizs Muzik
6-Ndine Promoter
7-Chacha
8-Avon with Christabel
9-Infinity Modelling Agency
10-VJ Prestar
11-Bartell joy Mataya
According to Police Publicist, while using the above fake Facebook accounts Kasakatiza allegedly swindled money from several people including men, who thought they were dealing with a lady. The suspect used, for example, pictures of innocent women without their consent, to entice his male victims.
