Africa-Press – Malawi. Paramount Chief Kyungu of Karonga and Chitipa has underscored the significance of unity and respect as fundamental pillars for advancing development in both districts and the broader national context.

The Paramount made the call at his residence following a visit by the recently installed Traditional Authority (T.A) Ntalire of Chitipa accompanied by senior chiefs to receive blessings from the Paramount Chief.

In an interview, the chief highlighted that fostering love, unity and respect are essential elements for the two districts and the nation-building. Adding that it’s only through love, unity and respect, that the strength to shape a brighter tomorrow can be found.

“If we love one another, if we respect one another, and if we are united development follows hence let’s embrace togetherness as the key to progress and success,” said his royal highness.

Turning to the visit of T/A Ntalire, the paramount expressed gratitude to the newly installed Chief for showing love and unity to come and see him and receive his blessings.

On his part, Senior Chief Kameme from Chitipa said their visit to the Paramount Chief residents was designed to promote the shared culture and history of the two districts.

“Our history tells us that Karonga and Chitipa natives are one people hence our coming to keep our traditions, shared culture, beliefs, and values between the two districts,” he explained. Traditional dances spiced up the visit and notable chiefs who accompanied T/A Ntalire included Senior Chiefs Kameme and Mwenewenya among others.
