Africa-Press – Malawi. President Lazarus Chakwera returned home Sunday from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), where he attended the inauguration ceremony of President Felix Tshisekedi.
Upon his return through Chileka International Airport in Blantyre, the President did not make any address at the airport regarding his travel and engagements in the DRC.
Before his departure on Friday, Chakwera, who was brief in his comment, said the trip was important as it would help the two countries discuss peace, security and other issues.
“I think peace and security issues are extremely important for our region, and the invitation that President Tshisekedi gave me is one I will sacrifice for the sake of peace and security in the region,” Chakwera said.
