Two Malawians have struck it rich in the SupaPesa BetYanga prediction games, walking away with a combined K32 million cash prize.
Charles Patel from Mzuzu scooped K22 million while Fales Justin from Blantyre claimed K10 million.
Justin, who operates a restaurant in Limbe Township, was excited with the development.
“I do not know what I did right to win. I just realised that I won after playing the SMS-based game powered by BetYanga. This is a dream come true. I never imagined I would win such an amount,” Justin said.
SupaPesa BetYanga’s Commercial Operations Director, Josiah Kachali, reiterated the company’s dedication to providing economic opportunities to Malawians.
“We are thrilled to see lives transformed through BetYanga. This platform is more than just a game; it is about empowering people and creating moments of joy,” he said.
BetYanga, a skill-based sports prediction game, allows participants to win by predicting outcomes of football matches.
Subscribers can join via SMS, USSD or mobile money on the TNM network, with options to play daily or on-demand by purchasing bet slips.
“Players can opt-in by dialing *1515# or sending BET to 1515 on TNM. We ensure every subscriber has an equal chance of winning through a daily prize draw. One lucky participant could win up to K5 million instantly, depending on their subscription and prediction accuracy,” Kachali said.
Subscribers are charged K250 daily, which includes one bet slip and entry into an instant prize draw.
Additional predictions can be made for as little as K500, increasing one’s chances of winning.
