Africa-Press – Malawi. Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (Luanar) Vice Chancellor Emmanuel Kaunda has described research as a tool that can help improve agriculture productivity.

Kaunda made the remarks in Lilongwe on Wednesday during the Malawi Agro Ecological Intensification Symposium which brought together researchers to find ways of controlling pets.

Kaunda said the symposium would assist the country to come up with sustainable food systems that can stand climate change which, he said, is affecting agriculture productivity.

Controller of Agriculture Services Alfred Mwenefumbo said the symposium would help stakeholders find ways of protecting the environment.

“We will ensure that findings of the research should be disseminated to small-scale farmers across the country,” he said.
