Africa-Press – Malawi. The Malawi Under-20 Women’s National Football Team, Young Scorchers are on the cusp of writing their own piece of history as they face Guinea Bissau at Bingu National Stadium (BNS) in Lilongwe this afternoon.
The two teams will meet in the second leg of the Fifa U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers after a 1-1 stalemate in the first leg at Stadio de Septembro in Bissau last week.
As it stands, Malawi just need a goal-less stalemate to advance to the final round of the qualifiers on away goal-rule.
On the other hand, Bissau need a scoring draw of more than two goals to qualify for the next round.
It is a tricky situation for either side. It is all to play for in this tie.

The Young Scorchers need great character to get a positive result as Bissau are not pushovers.
Malawi coach Maggie Chombo-Sadiki said she believes her charges are ready for the crunch tie.
“We are facing a good team so we have to be at the top of our game. The girls are in good shape and ready for the match,” she said.
The winner of this afternoon’s tie will face either Nigeria or Senegal in the final round of the qualifiers.
