Africa-Press<\/a> – Malawi<\/a>. <\/strong><\/span>Blantyre-based group Young Generation, famed for their hit \u2018Afiti Opemphera,\u2019 has resurfaced with their sixth album titled Africa Rise. The album was supposed to come out earlier but it delayed due to the demise of one of their producers Hope Lufani.<\/p>\n

One of the members Chinsinsi Saka said they were hoping for the best for the album and called for support from people. Advertisement \u201cWe started working on this album last year but, because of several challenges including the death of our producer Hope Lufani, it delayed. But God has his own ways of doing things and so it is ready now,\u201d Saka said.<\/p>\n

He said, in the album, they have worked with some of the original members of the group who are based in South Africa. The other producers of the 15-track album are Suji Silk and Best C, who is based in South Africa. Advertisement Another member Jangis Khan said they have put more effort in the album.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is an album which has a mixture of genres and we have tried as much to accommodate everyone including the current generation that loves urban music. This is why we have my daughter Zion leading in some of the songs,\u201d Jangis said.<\/p>\n

He then thanked players who have supported them in the project and continue to work with them citing Felix Mzilahowa. \u201cIt\u2019s hard to work on your own now, so we are so thankful to Mr. Felix Mzilahowa who has always pushed us and contributed heavily to the success of this project,\u201d Jangis said.<\/p>\n

He said they were working on a DVD which they plan to launch together with the album. \u201cWith Covid, the platform is still not yet fully open and this is why we just thought we should work on the DVD and then launch together with the CD,\u201d Jangis said.<\/p>\n

Zion said she is happy to be part of Young Generations and also take a lead role in some of the songs. \u201cI am like a banner for the young generation. It\u2019s been more work putting together this album and I am happy it\u2019s finally ready for the market,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Zion has led in songs such as \u2018Ndilira Ambewe\u2019 which was originally done by the late Saleta Phiri and a cover of reggae maestro Bob Marley\u2019s \u2018No Woman No Cry\u2019.<\/p>\n

Other songs that make Africa Rise include \u2018Chikondi\u2019, \u2018Bwera Kuno\u2019, \u2018Mkazi Wachikuda\u2019, \u2018Musatipilikitse\u2019, \u2018Ever Looking Fine\u2019 and \u2018Khalidwe\u2019, which features Numeri and \u2018Tate\u2019. The group\u2019s previous albums are Afiti Opemphera, Chikondi Chanu, Chenjezo, Muzalira and Sweet Love.<\/p>\n

Young Generation started in the 1980s and some of its founding members include Salima Khan, Davie Sazuze, Sherrifa Khan, Rubi Khan, Ishmael Grant, Masuzgo Gondwe and Allan Ngumuya.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
