Africa-Press – Malawi. <\/strong><\/span>Civo United have finally cleared defender Lawrence Chaziya to play for Jordanian top-flight league team Al Hussein Irbid. The clearance comes amid threats of the player\u2019s deal hitting a snag as his agent Amadu Fontem Tigana alleged that Civo were not cooperating on the transfer clearance.<\/p>\n

Civo general secretary Ronald Chiwaula confirmed the clearance, saying the club was not play games with the clearance. \u201cThe clearance was sent earlier, but it was just delayed to pass through. I am glad that he has been cleared,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

However, Chiwaula declined to shed more light on the deal as Civo insisted that he was not a free agent in contradiction to Chiziya\u2019s agent. \u201cI don\u2019t want to comment much on the issue [being a free agent or not]. What is important is that he has been cleared,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Writing on his Facebook Page Chiwaula simply said. \u201cDeal done. All the best Lawrence Chaziya. Represent Malawi well.\u201d The player was a beacon for the Flames at Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon after replacing captain Limbikani Mzava, who was injured in the Flames\u2019 opening match against Guinea in the first half. He clinched an outright deal with a signing-on fee of $20,000 (about K16 million) and a K4 million salary.<\/p>\n
