Chakwera told the people gathered at the rally that the road has been at his heart to be upgraded to tarmac saying it is important in spurring the country\u2019s development.<\/p>\n<p>He said that he had an opportunity to travel on the road in its current status and appreciated that it is indeed in bad shape. On the status of crops in the district, the President noted that farmers in the district will realise poor harvest hence assured them, and the nation as a whole, not to panic as government is doing all it can to ensure that everyone is food secure.<\/p>\n<p>Traditional Authority Mwaulambya commended the President for touring crop fields in the district to appreciate how farmers have fared during this year\u2019s growing season.<\/p>\n<p>Minister of Agriculture, Lobin Lowe, said his Ministry is doing everything possible to ensure that farmers in the district have access to markets of crops such as bananas, sunflower and groundnuts.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/malawi\">Malawi<\/a> Follow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Malawi.
