Africa-Press – Malawi. <\/strong><\/span>Inkosi ya Makhosi M\u2019mbelwa V has reminded President Lazarus Chakwera of his promise to construct Inkosi M\u2019mbelwa University in Mzimba and the traditional leader has advised the president to ensure the university is constructed, saying Chakwera has an ultimatum since Malawians will vote again in 2025.<\/p>\n

The chief was speaking during a developmental rally Chakwera held in Mzimba yesterday. He noted that Chakwera promised a lot of projects in Mzimba including construction of the Mombera University which was initiated by the Peter Mutharika administration before the Chakwera administration renamed it Inkosi M\u2019mbelwa University.<\/p>\n

\u201cUp to this day, there is no university. There is no activity at the project site,\u201d said M\u2019mbelwa. He claimed that officials in the Chakwera administration are delaying projects which the president promised to implement.<\/p>\n

M\u2019mbelwa advised Chakwera to issue ultimatums to such officials so that they should speed up the projects, some of which, he said, Chakwera already initiated.<\/p>\n

\u201cBecause such government officials forget that you also have an ultimatum since people will vote again in 2025 and if the projects are not completed, people will blame you, your excellency,\u201d said M\u2019mbelwa. In his remarks at the rally, Chakwera said some people in the government system are deliberately delaying government projects.<\/p>\n

He, however, assured Malawians that his administration will complete projects which were initiated by previous administration, saying the Tonse Alliance administration has already completed Phalombe Hospital and Thyolo-Thekerani Road.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, the M\u2019mbelwa University and even the Orton Chirwa International Airport will be constructed,\u201d said Chakwera. He then warned that he will remove all officials who are frustrating and stalling government projects.<\/p>\n
