Africa-Press – Malawi. <\/strong><\/span>Blue Eagles have extended their lead on the TNM Super league log table following their 2-1 victory over rookies Sable Farming on Saturday afternoon at Mpira Stadium in the commercial city of Blantyre.<\/p>\n

Goals from Schumaker Kuwali and Osward Maonga were enough to hand the Malawi Police side three points while Sable\u2019s skipper George Nyirenda saw his penalty kick saved failng to square up the scores and get a point from the match.<\/p>\n

Emmanuel Lino scored the consolation goal for the hosts who are still struggling to get maximmu points at home; as battle for points continues. Their gaffer Joseph Malizani has admitted that his team lacks maturity.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a bad game for us today, we lost hope and I can say that we are lacking maturity but we cannot do otherwise as those are only players that we have and we just have to use them. Our colleagues were playing long balls and shooting from far\u2026we have lost, it\u2019s a part of the game,\u201d said Malizani.<\/p>\n

On his part, Eagles\u2019 Eliya Kananji praised Sables\u2019 players for their excellent performance as they attacked most time of the game up until when they lost control and his men got a winning goal.<\/p>\n

\u201cSable isn\u2019t an easy side which you may say you\u2019ll easily get maximum points from, look at their play but let me also say that we prepared enough, we are expecting to be doing better in the forthcoming matches,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Following this result, Eagles are still topping the table now with 22 points from eight matches seconded by Nyasa Big Bullets, with 17 points. The defending champions take on Rumphi United tomorrow in Blantyre.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere, a lone goal from Royal Bokosi was enough for Red Lions to defeat Rumphi United 1-0 at Balaka Stadium and take their points up to nine on the log table. In Lilongwe, Miracle Gabeya\u2019s mistake assisted Silver Strikers to beat Mighty Wanderers 2-1 at Silver Stadium in what analysts described as the game of the week in the top flight.<\/p>\n

Duncan Nyoni and Stain Davie scored for the bankers as Muhammad Sulumba scored for the visitors. Assistant coach for Wanderers Joseph Kamwendo pointed his fingers at Gabeya saying he cost them the match.<\/p>\n

\u201cLook at what silly goal we conceded because of Gabeya, but I am not pointing at him that he has made us to drop points here, we\u2019ll go back and fix some of the problems we have noted,\u201d said Kamwendo.<\/p>\n

On his part, bankers\u2019 head coach Dan Kabwe praised his boys for the victory saying the match was difficult as they had much pressure before the match.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was tactical and pressured match, it\u2019s great that we have won the match,\u201d Kabwe said.<\/p>\n

On Sunday, apart from Bullets\u2019 match, other two matches have been lined up as Karonga United hosts Mafco at Karonga Stadium as Ekwendeni Hammers are at Mzuzu Stadium playing against their rivals, Moyale Barracks.<\/p>\n
