Africa-Press – Malawi. <\/strong><\/span>Frank Gabadinho Mhango\u2019s agent Mike Makaab has held talks with DStv Premiership side Orlando Pirates management to explore options for the Malawian forward who is seeking a move away from the side.<\/p>\n

Mhango has struggled for game time at Pirates in the current campaign due to several reasons including injuries and discipline. However, Makaab met Pirates boss Irvin Khoza and discussed Mhango\u2019s future during a recent meeting.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf we have a team that shows interest and the deal is a good deal for both club and player, he\u2019ll consider it,\u2019\u2019 Makaab was quoted as saying on www.idiskitimes.co.za.<\/p>\n

Mhango has a running contract with Pirates until June 2023. Reports from South Africa recently indicated that the striker will leave the club at the end of the season. Several South African clubs including Pirates\u2019 rivals Kaizer Chiefs and Royal Am FC, whose head coach is Malawian John Maduka, are after Mhango\u2019s signature.<\/p>\n

Maduka also coached Mhango when he joined Bloemfontein Celtic from Nyasa Big Bullets in 2013 before he moved to Bidvets Wits. South Africa-based Malawian journalist Benjamin Nyirenda said it was high time Mhango left Pirates to face new challenge.<\/p>\n

\u201cEveryone knows that Mhango is a top player but he is not being given a chance to play at Pirates. There are several teams interested in him,\u201d Nyirenda said.<\/p>\n

Mhango had a good debut season with Pirates having won the PSL Golden Boot Award with 16 goals alongside Namibian Peter Shalulile. The Malawian has fallen out favour under Mandla Ncikazi and Fadlu Davids this season.<\/p>\n

Despite starring for the Flames during the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations finals in Cameroon where he scored three goals, Mhango has had limited playing time at Pirates.<\/p>\n

He has only featured five times for Pirates this season. Apart from playing for Celtic and Wits, the Flames striker also played for Golden Arrows on loan where he scored five goals.<\/p>\n
