Africa-Press – Malawi. <\/strong><\/span>Angry Mighty Mukuru Wanderers fans Tuesday bayed for the players\u2019 blood after a third consecutive draw in the TNM Super League. Wanderers shared the spoils with Civil Service United after playing out to a goal-less stalemate in a dull match at Civo Stadium in Lilongwe.<\/p>\n

This means the Nomads returned to their Blantyre base with two points from two matches after a 1-1 draw with Mafco at Chitowe Stadium on Saturday, just few days after they drew 1- 1 with Blue Eagles at Kamuzu Stadium.<\/p>\n

But after the match against Civil, the fans showed their frustration and stopped the players from boarding the bus. The situation was tough for the players as some of them had to find their own means of transport to escape from the angry fans.<\/p>\n

Despite three consecutive draws, the Nomads are on position three on the log table with 25 points from 14 matches, 13 points behind leaders Nyasa Big Bullets and five behind Eagles.<\/p>\n

Surely, the alarm bells should be ringing in Nomads camp as they are far behind in the title race. On the part of Civil, it was a fifth consecutive draw in the league. They drew 2-2 with TN Stars last week.<\/p>\n

However, the draw a was vital for them as they climbed to position eight with 17 points from 14 matches, displacing Karonga United, who are on position nine from the same number of matches.<\/p>\n

On the pitch, it was a dull match which left many fans fuming. The match failed to live to its expectations and, at some point, resembled a social football encounter.<\/p>\n

However, Civil had the best chance of the match but striker Christopher Kumwembe, with only the goalkeeper to beat, blasted the ball over the crossbar.<\/p>\n

Wanderers had a chance in the first half but striker Muhammad Sulumba shot into the palms of goalkeeper Ernest Kakhobwe, who was later substituted due to injury.<\/p>\n

After the match, Civil Team Manager Gabriel Chirwa rued missed chances. \u201cWe created more chances in the first half but lacked composure. There is no need to panic; we will rectify the problems,\u201d Chirwa said.<\/p>\n

Wanderers Technical Director Eddington Ng\u2019onamo admitted it was a frustrating result. \u201cWe wanted to collect four points in the Central Region but I think the players were a bit tired after traveling from Dwangwa.<\/p>\n

We are focusing on winning the last match of the first round,\u201d Ng\u2019onamo said. The Nomads host Karonga at Kamuzu Stadium in their last match of the first round.<\/p>\n
