The intervention by NOCMA follows recent global challenges that have hit the oil and gas industry.<\/p>\n<p>NOCMA Public Relations Officer, Chisomo Mwamadi told The Maravi Post that Lilongwe fuel reserve which can store up to 25 million of fuel is up and running but awaits the completion of construction works of Salima-Mchinji railway which is underway for the body to start importing oil from Nacala in Mozambique.<\/p>\n<p>Mwamadi added that the Blantyre reserve which can store up to 25 million of fuel will be up and running this November. He then assured Malawians that when all the two fuel reserves are finalised they will be able to store about 200, 000 litre per hour.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNOCMA will be importing 1.2 million litres of oil per day and 24 million litres each month when these fuel reserves are completed\u201d, Mwamadi says<\/p>\n<p>NOCMA is mandated to ensure security of fuel supply in the country, promote competion in the oil industry and to promote oil and gas exploration activities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/malawi\">Malawi<\/a> Follow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Malawi.
