Africa-Press – Malawi. <\/strong><\/span>Malawi Parliament has finally recognized George Chaponda as newly appointed leader of Opposition, George Chaponda. This follow Parliament letter notifying Chaponda for the invitation to appear before business Committee on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 in preparation of the 58th Parliamentary session.<\/p>\n

In a statement signed by the parliament ,Clerk of parliament, Fiona Kalemba state that the house has accepted his appointment . The letter state that Chaponda is being summoned as a new leader of opposition.<\/p>\n

Democratic Progress Party (DPP) replaces Kondwani Nankhumwa as a leader of opposition in a meeting which held in Mangochi by the party President Peter Muntharika.<\/p>\n

This is the second attempt by the DPP leadership of which the first one, the office of the speaker did not adhere to the change. This means Nankhumwa has been officially removed from the post<\/p>\n
