Africa-Press – Malawi. <\/strong><\/span>There are calls for justice from Social Media users for Mussa John, a 19-year-old boy who has been sentenced to eight years in prison over illegal possession of Indian hemp weighing 134 kilograms.<\/p>\n

Mussa who was arrested on Wednesday last week on his alleged case was on Friday, June 24, 2022 through Inspector Ian Ntaba of Limbe Police sentenced to eight years in prison for being found guilty of the offense levelled against him.<\/p>\n

However, Ntaba\u2019s judgement on the teenager has not pleased many Malawians who are now calling it as injustice judgement and want Mussa to be just fined and freed from the prison.<\/p>\n

According to some social media posts from several Malawians that Maravi Post has seen, many are relating Mussa\u2019s case to that of Castel Managing Director Herve Milhade who was found guilty of cultivating the illicit drug at his residence in Blantyre but later he was just given a fine of K1 million or serve 12 months months (1 year) jail term.<\/p>\n

Godfrey Msowoya says; \u201cFree Mussa John rehabilitation not incarceration. A white man was just fined, a son of the soil has been condemned out of his future. He did not kill a person, he did not steal from government . All he did is to feed his siblings.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, one of the county\u2019s social media influencers Gerald Chavezi Kampanikiza says currently, three lawyers are on the ground to appeal the 8 year jail sentence handed to Mussa so as it can be revisited.<\/p>\n
