Africa-Press – Malawi. <\/strong><\/span>The country\u2019s premier commercial entity Standard Bank on Wednesday, June 29, launched public servants accounts for easy access to loans. The account has been designed specifically for public servants to suit their needs and support their investment presently and future.<\/p>\n

The Public Servants account comes with packages including Free Visa enabled debit card at first opening, overdraft facility, home loan, car financing and insurance and optional funeral cover.<\/p>\n

Standard Bank\u2019s Head Consumers and High Networth clients Charity Mughogho told The Maravi Post that public servant account will focus on executive, legislature, judiciary and security arms of Malawi government. Mughogho observes that as civil servants drive the country\u2019s economic progress and growth, they need financial support in time of need.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe account is a milestone for all civil servants and give practical solutions to the saving investment and insurance needs of our client. \u201cThe account will offer civil servants access to 24\/7 banking, 70% home loans, personal loan, 100% car loan and funeral plan cover up to MK1 million.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are set to achieve a financially robust civil service which positively contribute to the socio-economic status of Malawi. The bank is therefore committed to developing products and services that fulfil customer expectations.<\/p>\n

Senior deputy director for Human Resources and Development Moses Chiwoni was over the moon over the bank\u2019s initiative saying the offer shows Standard Bank commitment to deal with real life needs and scenarios that public servants face.<\/p>\n

\u201cGovernment would like to encourage Standard Bank to continue providing tailored services that respond to the needs of public servants. In doing so, the bank will make a noble contribution to our ambitious effort to transform Malawi into a prosperous vibrant and self-reliant nation especially within the framework of Malawi 2063.<\/p>\n
