Africa-Press – Malawi. <\/strong><\/span>Former Mighty Mukuru Wanderers and Flames maestro midfielder Joseph Kamwendo has spoken to the media for the first time since his demotion from being Mighty Wanderers FC Assistant coach to their Reserve side weeks ago.<\/p>\n

What has prompted him to speak is the rumour which has gone viral on social media that he has dragged Mighty Mukuru Wanderers FC to court for the decision they have made.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet me clear myself on the rumours and reports which have gone viral on social media that I have taken my team Wanderers to court.I don\u2019t have that plans,I respect the team, it is like my parents to me,I am known as a footballer,went to play abroad because of them\u201d,<\/p>\n

\u201cWanderers gave me everything I wanted as a football player. So it is not ideal for me to take the team to court hence take those reports as false. However after consulting my family I have decided not to take up the reserve side role as of now will concentrate on my Academy and also to upgrade the coaching licence as I hold FAM C now.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am still a nomad and I will die a Nomad. Lastly let me thank Wanderers for entrusting me with assistant coach role as I didn\u2019t expect it coming on my way\u201d, Kamwendo narrated. Mighty Wanderers and Joseph Kamwendo signed a one year contract which expires this coming April, 2023.<\/p>\n

Kamwendo and his head coach Edgnton Ng\u2019onamo guided the team to finish within top eight in 2022 TNM Super League first round and to qualify in FDH Bank cup Pachema in round of 16.<\/p>\n

Kamwendo nicknamed Shakira started playing for Mighty Wanderers in early 2000 and scored vital goals for the club. He retired in 2017 the year which the Nomads last won TNM Super League.<\/p>\n
