Africa-Press – Malawi. <\/strong><\/span>UTM Secretary General Patricia Kaliati has rubbished reports making rounds on social media that Vice President Saulos Chilima is the architect of series of demonstrations that are happening in the country.<\/p>\n

Speaking in Ntcheu on Saturday August 6, 2022 when she graced the launch of Simeon Salambula football trophy of Ntcheu West Constituency Kaliati said the claims that Chilima is sponsoring demonstrations in the country are baseless and work of propaganda aimed at tarnishing the party leader\u2019s image.<\/p>\n

She said those who are in forefront fabricating such stories are enemies of progress who just want to distract the good relationship between President Lazarus Chakwera and his Vice Chilima.<\/p>\n

\u201cUTM is in government and the relationship between the State President and his Vice is very tight. Those behind such stories are there to tarnish the image of Chilima who is also UTM President,\u201d said Kaliati.<\/p>\n

Since President Chakwera stopped delegating duties to his Vice Chilima due to his involvement in the Corruption scandal. There has been a wave of demonstrations in the country calling for removal of Presidential immunity , a situation that has led to some eagle eyed critics think that Chilima is the one behind the scene.<\/p>\n
