Africa-Press – Malawi. <\/strong><\/span>Malawi Police at Balaka station are keeping in custody 29-year-old-man, Jafali Kalonga for allegedly breaking into and stealing in more than seven Mosques in five districts of Nsanje, Balaka, Dedza, Salima and Zomba.<\/p>\n

Kalonga was arrested on Friday, September 2, 2022. In the bizarre occurrence, Criminal Investigations Officer, Bob Mtalike disclosed that the suspect has been breaking into Mosques for the past five years on pretense.<\/p>\n

Jafali is a Muslim hence walking away with valuables including carpets, mats, window glasses and blankets among others. Kalonga, alleges that he took advantage of Mosques because they are left unsecured for daily prayers. The suspect hails from Mtuwana village, Traditional Authority (T.A) Mulolo in Nsanje district.<\/p>\n
