Africa-Press – Malawi. <\/strong><\/span>Leadership is the action of leading a group of people or an organization. It is also the ability of an individual or a group of individuals to influence and guide followers or other members of an organization.<\/p>\n

There are different types of Leadership. I hope Malawians can find the type of leadership which befits Reverend Lazarus Chakwera with his Tonse Alliance.<\/p>\n

Autocratic<\/b><\/p>\n

An authoritarian leadership style is exemplified when a leader dictates policies and procedures, decides what goals are to be achieved, and directs and controls all activities without any meaningful participation by the subordinates.<\/p>\n

Democratic<\/b><\/p>\n

Democratic leadership, also known as participative leadership or shared leadership, is a leadership style in which members of the group participate in the decision-making process. This type of leadership can apply to any organization, from private businesses to schools to the government.<\/p>\n

Laissez-faire<\/b><\/p>\n

Laissez-faire leaders have an attitude of trust and reliance on their employees. They don\u2019t micromanage or get too involved, they don\u2019t give too much instruction or guidance. Instead laissez-faire leaders let their employees use their creativity, resources, and experience to help them meet their goals.<\/p>\n

Transformational Leadership<\/b><\/p>\n

Transformational leadership is defined as a leadership approach that causes change in individuals and social systems. In its ideal form, it creates valuable and positive change in the followers with the end goal of developing followers into leaders.<\/p>\n

Some common signs of bad leadership include passive aggressive communication, failure to own up to mistakes, not listening to concerns of the citizens, or creating an intimidating environment. The following are examples of poor leadership.<\/p>\n

Lack of Presence<\/b><\/p>\n

This one\u2019s pretty straightforward but amazingly it\u2019s overlooked by many leaders. Leadership presence training enables each person to assert their individuality and form more meaningful and deep relationships with those around them, which results in stronger teams, higher performance, and a culture of empowering ourselves and those around us.<\/p>\n

Presence affects leadership<\/b><\/p>\n

One of the key benefits of improving your leadership presence is that it can strengthen your workplace leadership by engaging people. Leaders with strong leadership presences know how to communicate and empathize with the people they lead, which can make them more engaged with their work. There could be signs that show a leader lacks executive presence.<\/p>\n
