Africa-Press – Malawi. <\/strong><\/span>Ministry of Education in conjunction with Malawi Examination Board (MANEB) on Sunday, October 2, 2022 released 2022 Primary School Leaving Certificate Education (PSLCE) exams results with 83.24 % pass rate with free leakages.<\/p>\n

Addressing the news conference in the capital Lilongwe that the examinations were conducted in free and professional manner. MANEB Executive Director Professor Dorothy Nampota that this year\u2019s results pass rate is lower than of 2021 as it was 83.83%.<\/p>\n

Prof. Nampota discloses, \u201cFor a candidate to pass the Primary School Leaving Certificate of Education Examinations he\/she must obtain passes in five subjects including English.<\/p>\n

\u201cA total of 266,616 candidates registered for the examinations, out of which 134,703 were females and 131,913 were males. A total of 260,295 sat for the examinations, out of which 131,012 were females and 129,283 were males.<\/p>\n

\u201cOut of the 260,295 candidates who sat for the examination, 216,664 have passed. This represents 83.24% pass rate (a slight decrease from 83.83% of 2021). Out of the 131,012 female candidates who sat for this examination, 102,623 have passed. This represents 78.33% pass rate.<\/p>\n

\u201cOut of the129,283 male candidates who sat for this examination, 114,041 have passed. This represents 88.21% pass rate,\u201d reads in part MANEB statement.<\/p>\n

According to MANEB, Special Needs Result are as follows: Out of the 3,668 Special Needs (SNE) candidates who sat for this examination, 2,672 have passed. This represents 72.58% pass rate.<\/p>\n

Out of the 1,766 SNE male candidates who sat for this examination 1,345 have passed. This represents 76.16 % pass rate. Out of the 1,899 SNE female candidates who sat for this examination, 1,327 have passed.<\/p>\n
