Africa-Press – Malawi. <\/strong><\/span>Ecobank Malawi has today partnered with Malawi Council for the Handicapped (Macoha) to drive this year\u2019s Ecobank day agenda that is focusing on driving financial inclusion towards persons with disabilities.<\/p>\n

According to Ecobank Head of Brand, Marketing & Corporate Communications Tidzi Chalamba, Ecobank thought of venturing into the partnership with Macoha as one way of expressing the bank\u2019s commitment to uplifting lives of persons with disabilities.<\/p>\n

Chalamba said the partnership will see the bank through Macoha supporting different persons with disabilities in their skills. \u201cAs we count down to this year\u2019s Ecobank Day scheduled on 12 November we are pleased to partner with Macoha a reputable institution that has been empowering persons with disabilities for over 50 years.<\/p>\n

\u201cThrough this partnership we will work together to uplift a number of skilled persons with disabilities that the institution has trained by giving them a head start to their business so that they are economically and financially empowered,\u201d said Chalamba.<\/p>\n

In his remarks, Macoha Acting Executive Director Dryford Mpunga thanked Ecobank for the partnership saying it has come at the right time as they prepare for this year\u2019s Flag week.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are a lot of persons with disabilities in Malawi who are lacking support to attain self -reliance. We thank Ecobank for this partnership. We strongly believe that this collective action will go a long way in advancing self-reliance amongst persons with disabilities,\u201d said Mpunga.<\/p>\n

Recently, the bank partnered with Bonface Ndamera of the Chinafuna M\u2019bale fame to be this year\u2019s Champion of the Ecobank Day and social media Platform Mikozi Network to drive awareness of the same.<\/p>\n

Ecobank Day whose celebrations are slated for November 12 and is under the umbrella theme of \u201cFinancial Inclusion for All-Leave No One Behind\u201d, is the banks flagship annual CSI event that showcases its commitment towards giving back to its local communities.<\/p>\n
