Africa-Press – Malawi. <\/strong><\/span>Nyasa Big Bullets have confirmed the signing of striker Maxwell Gasten Phodo from Silver Strikers following his decision not to renew his contract with the Bankers last month. The 23-year-old turned down a contract extension proposal from his former club before the expirery of his contract on October 1, 2022.<\/p>\n

With ten clubs chasing for his signature, rumors were circulating that his next destination was Bullets but sources from the club refused to comment until they officially sealed his signature on a three year deal.<\/p>\n

The club\u2019 official website made the announcement on Tuesday that read: \u201cNyasa Big Bullets are pleased to announce the arrival of Maxwell Gasten Phodo. The forward has signed a three-year contract until 2025.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe 23-year-old forward joins The People\u2019s Team as a free agent.\u201d And after his unveiling, Phodo said he was looking forward to playing for the \u2018biggest team\u2019 in Malawi.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m so excited to have joined this big club. It\u2019s been my desire to play for this team. Bullets is the biggest club in Malawi and it\u2019s every player\u2019s dream to play for this club, which is very organised and always encourages players to do better.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been my dream to be coached by Kalisto Pasuwa and I\u2019m happy that finally, my wish has come to pass. I\u2019m still the same player, nothing has changed and everyone at Bullets should expect a lot from me .\u201d Phodo is the second player within a year to join Bullets from the area 47 based side after they also signed Hadji Wali earlier this year.<\/p>\n
