Africa-Press – Malawi. <\/strong><\/span>The Standard Bank\u2019s global digital platform, Unayo, has partnered with the Malawi National Examinations Board (Maneb) to facilitate payment of candidates\u2019 examination and Identity cards fees.<\/p>\n

This is coming when standard eight, form two and form four students across the country are currently preparing for the 2023 national examinations.<\/p>\n

According to Ewen Hiwa who is the Head of Client Solutions at Standard Bank plc, the partnership is aiming at easing the payment process for candidates\u2019 examination and ID fees ahead of 2023 examinations.<\/p>\n

The Head of Client Solutions indicated that the service which is free of charge, is currently available for payment through Unayo Merchants and on the Unayo App but says it will in due course be added to the bank\u2019s mobile facility.<\/p>\n

Hiwa said clients who don\u2019t have the Unayo App are supposed to visit their nearest Unayo merchant with their 14-digit invoice number and the appropriate fee in cash and the merchant will pay to Maneb on their behalf and an SMS will be sent to the merchant for a successful payment.<\/p>\n

He added that customers using Unayo App, can make the payment by signing in, then go to buy, select other services; choose National Examinations Board, insert their invoice number and click next, after viewing the details a customer can then confirm the payment and a successful payment will generate an SMS sent to the customer\u2019s registered phone number.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith Unayo, MANEB examination fee payment is free of charge, you can simply visit your nearest merchant with the relevant fee in cash or pay conveniently on the Unayo App, allowing customers to transact from wherever they are in Malawi.\u201d said Hiwa.<\/p>\n

On her part, MANEB Executive Director, Professor Dorothy Nampota thanked Standard Bank plc for the gesture which she described as a practical option for clients ahead of the 2023 primary and secondary school examinations.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe E-registration platform is integrated with convenient and electronic modes of payment. Unayo comes in as a practical payment option for students, their parents or guardians on all mobile networks to pay examination fees from anywhere in Malawi.<\/p>\n

\u2018\u2019The new electronic application process will require a candidate to register with a MANEB approved examination centre online after which they will receive a 14-digit invoice number. The student or their guardian should then use the invoice number to make payment at the nearest Unayo merchant or on the Unayo App,\u2019\u2019 said Nampota.<\/p>\n

E-registration and payment systems are replacing the traditional excel based registration process and over the counter payment systems.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, registration of candidates for the 2023 national examinations is underway and the deadline for payment of examination fees is 16th December, 2022.<\/p>\n
