Africa-Press – Malawi. <\/strong><\/span>Excommunicated Bishop of the Anglican Church of Upper Shire, Right Reverend Brighton Vita Malasa, has defied a 48-hour eviction order from diocese house and surrender its property, by Archbishop of the Province of Central Africa, Most Rev. Albert Chama.<\/p>\n

Malasa is demanding that a case which is in the high court of Malawi be concluded and receive his terminal benefits and an orderly three months eviction notice is served to him.<\/p>\n

\u201cI will vacate the house within 48-hours as demanded by you, unless all issues are addressed, because, these are my rights. It shall be good if the Anglican Diocese of Upper Shire is compliant with all the guiding policies including the Laws of Malawi,\u201d said Malasa in a statement.<\/p>\n

This comes barely three weeks after the church excommunicated Malasa from the Church by the Anglican Church of Province of Central Africa. The development follows alleged failure by Malasa and other members of the church to avail themselves for two meetings arranged for them when the provincial Archbishop Albert Chama was in the country a week ago.<\/p>\n

The Anglican Provincial Team from Zambia, led by Chama, visited Zomba to try and resolve the long standing disagreements in Adus, where some members of the church and clergy were pushing for Malasa\u2019s ouster.<\/p>\n
