Africa-Press – Malawi. <\/strong><\/span>Malawi Government has been asked to put in place measures that will improve pass rate for national examinations which he said include motivating students and teachers.<\/p>\n

This is according to the school\u2019s Managing Director, Ernest Kaonga who on Friday 3rd December spoke to members of media in Blantyre in reaction to Maranatha Academy\u2019s performance in this year\u2019s Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) examination results.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy tip to government is that if there are many checks and balances being implemented, then we will have better results because currently teachers are not checked, there are no punishments if they miss classes and when they are doing good they get nothing. So, I think if our teachers are motivated there might be improved results,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

In this year\u2019s MSCE, Maranatha Boys Academy is among top ten outstanding schools. Kaonga said 410 students who sat for MSCE exams at Maranatha Boys, 402 have passed while at girls, all the 325 students have passed and that over 200 students scored from 8 to 20 points.<\/p>\n

The Managing Director mentioned that discipline coupled with hard work among students and teachers, is the secret behind the school\u2019s improved results year in year out.<\/p>\n

He then indicated that as education is one key component of the Malawi 2063 agenda, Maranatha Academy is keen to contribute towards the achievement of the blueprint and says the school wants to produce influential people who will dominate top government and private sector positions.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are here to express our happiness and tell the nation that the results which Maranatha Academy is having this year, is something to be proud of. God has done it again for us,\u201d said Kaonga.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Kaonga says the school still commits to its recent promise to fly to Victoria Falls in Zambia students who have done extremely well in the 2022 Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) examinations.<\/p>\n

He said the school will in due course announce arrangements for the trip to Zambia but pointed out that two boys who have scored 8 points each and other top performing girls from the school, may accompany the lone six points scorer.<\/p>\n
